Great start to Senior Hockey season

Monday September 28th was the first game of the new season for our senior hockey girls against Loreto Foxrock and what a start they got off to! The CPC girls began strong with Emily Vaughan, Emma Sergeant Kelly and Sinead Maher doing particularly well. After 10 minutes gone the game remained goalless, with the Loreto keeper pulling off crucial saves on more than one occasion. The deadlock was broken after 15 minutes when a short corner produced CPC’s first goal. A short pass from Sinead saw Emma punish the Loreto defence. Goals from Trina Duggan and Emma once again, left CPC leading by 3-0 at half time. Although our defence was under greater pressure in the 2nd half the CPC ladies managed to add a final goal to their tally through a fine finish by Niamh Nolan, leaving the Kilcullen girls winners by a score line of 4-0.
A great start to the season no doubt. Well done to all of the girls involved!
