Senior Hockey
Our Senior hockey team have outdone themselves again, winning their play-off to see them through to the Leinster quarter final next week.
After coming top of their pool, the play off against Our Lady’s Grove was played on a cold, wet Thursday here in Kilcullen. However, the conditions didn’t stop the Kilcullen girls. After a nervy start to the game, CPC really got stuck in and finally broke the deadlock through a cool Trina Duggan finish. Catherine Weir made it 2-0 before the half-time whistle. Our Lady’s Grove had a strong start to the second half and pulled a goal back before long. However, with several important saves from Aoife Molyneaux, the team began to work together once more and Katherine again finished with a lovely strike to make it 3-1 to Kilcullen. This has earned them the chance to play Loreto Bray in the quarter final stages of the Leinster competition. This is a first for the school and we wish the girls all the best of luck in the next round!
