When students in 4C had a visit from Jim Fitzgerald of WEEE Ireland he told them how easy it is to recycle electrical goods without any charge. As a result of the visit, the class, along with students in 38 other schools throughout Kildare decided to organise a collection of such goods in the school. The students visited the local primary school and businesses throughout the town and within a couple of days they managed to fill two large bins with small electrical goods from the school and the local community. The class would like to thank everyone who gave them items for their collection. Because it was such a success they hope to organise another collection soon. As a result of the students’ efforts the school will receive a computer that has been refurbished by WEEE Ireland.
