4A Economics – Bernard Durkan TD Visit
As part of their Economics module, 4A welcomed the Kildare North TD, Bernard Durkan to CPC. Bernard has been a TD since 1981. He is the third longest serving TD in Dáil Éireann. Bernard gave the students an insight into the work of a national politician. He explained the reasons why he got involved in politics and how he has tried to do his best for the country in his 30 years in public life. The students asked questions and Bernard gave very thorough answers. It was a great learning opportunity for the students – it was interesting to discuss the state of the economy and to hear the views of such an experience politician. A big thank you to Bernard for taking the time to visit our school. S. Dowling (TY Economics Teacher)
