Belgian Trip a Great Success

A group of 49 transition year students and five teachers had a wonderful trip to Belgium from Friday May 29th to Tuesday June 2nd. Based at the Europe Space Centre just over an hour outside Brussels, the students took part in a wide range of space related activities. They experienced what it is like to walk on the moon and to float in zero gravity; they also participated in a simulated space shuttle launch and built and launched their own rockets. There was of course some time for other equally fun activities including a visit to a theme park, an outdoor adventure centre and a trek through the magical caves of Han. The group also travelled widely around Belgium and also through Luxembourg into Germany. The trip was organised by Miss Groome through the Saffron Promotions group travel agency. Teachers travelling were Miss Hickey, Miss Eagney, Miss FInn and Mr. Clare.
