UNDER 14’S CLINCH 4-IN-A-ROW

CPC under 14 girls soccer team made it 4 league titles in a row last Thursday when they beat a gallant St. Marys from Naas in this seasons final. Weather conditions over the past few weeks meant the pitch was very wet and both teams must take great credit for producing such an exciting exhibition of soccer.
The Naas girls had dominated the opening exchanges when, slightly against the run of play, Kilcullen scored with a great goal from Ciara Pembroke. CPC then took control and with some excellent defending allied to a potent quick break attack they increased their lead before the break through Emer Fogarty.
The second half continued where the first had left off, with CPC playing some very skilful controlled football and it was no surprise when they got a third goal with a superb strike from the lethal Ciara Pembroke. Naas fought back really well with no little skill themselves and deservedly reduced the deficit to two goals. Kilcullen however were always in control and secured victory with a second goal from Emer Fogarty. To their credit the Naas girls never gave up and got a further consolation goal before the end, to leave the final score 4-2 to Kilcullen.
