Equestrian Studies Module

On Monday March 2nd, Mr. Dowling brought all of 4A to John Oxx’ racing yard in The Curragh as part of our Equestrian Studies class. We all enjoyed it. John Oxx himself brought us around his yard, showing and explaining his day to day life as a horse trainer.

He talked about racing horses and how they are graded, what their training consists of, what kind of diets they have etc. He also talked about horse breeding and general behaviour. Mr. Oxx answered any questions we had.

It was a great experience for all including those of us who don’t have a great interest in horses. Thanks to Mr. Oxx and Mr. Dowling.
