'The Big Sing'

Congratulations to our students (numbering almost 650) who successfully sang 'You gotta be' at precisely 2:45pm on Thursday 27th November 2008 thus playing a vital part in the World Record attempt to have the most people singing simultaneously. Almost 600,000 people across Ireland and England were involved. A lot of hard work went into to the attempt with a number of Transition Year students working diligently to teach the song to all the students in the school over the previous week. Students were involved in collecting money as the attempt was also used as a fundraiser for Childline and Special Olympics. Our attempt was overseen by two independent witnesses Frances Clare and Siobhan Tutty-Bardon who verified all Guinness World Record attempt regulations were implemented. We look forward to confirmation of the new world record and a certificate being presented to our school acknowledging the role played by Cross and Passion College.
